Your deadline in Dallas

Against a private owner you have two years under Civil Practice and Remedies Code § 16.003.

Against the city, the written claim must arrive within six (6) months, per City of Dallas notice of claim. Call the same week you fall.

Before you leave the property

Call us first, even from the parking lot; the review is free. Then get an incident report written while you are still there. Photograph the spot, your shoes and any missing warning sign. Take the names of people who saw it, then see a doctor that day.

You can recover if your share of the fault is 50 percent or less. At 51 percent or more you get nothing.
